Coastal furniture we would love to have

Coastal interiors have always been a staple look for us since we’re surrounded by beaches. The look is laidback, organic, pleasant, and yet, filled with detail and personality.
There’s also a sense of calm that comes with coastal design. Naturally, organic materials are used for finishes such as wood (preferably light and aged), abaca, cotton, linen, some silk, decorative paints, seagrass and more. The more texture to be used, the better.

Colors lean toward neutrals with some blue, white, sage green, or soft powder pinks. Patterns can range from stripes and chevrons, florals, animal prints, botanicals to seashells or a playful mix of all.
Furniture pieces may come as matching sets or a curated mix of different styles. I like mixing them up as usual.

What better way to write this article than with the Manila FAME happening this weekend—open only until today (Saturday) 6 p.m. at the World Trade Center. You’ll find an incredible array of locally made pieces perfect for coastal interiors, from furniture to lamps, and decor—all made in the Philippines. Manila FAME this year is not one to miss!
Whether your coastal space is truly by the sea or simply inspired by it, we’re here to show you some furniture pieces we would love to use.
