Coffee Project, the country’s Most Instagrammable Coffee Shop, celebrates the remarkable achievement of its coffee master, Kurt Opeña, who was the 1st Runner-Up at the prestigious 2024 Da Vinci Gourmet Barista Craft Championship held recently in Bonifacio Global City (BGC).

This victory marks a significant milestone for both Coffee Project and Opeña, whose dedication to the art of coffee making and innovative approach to flavor creation stood out among the best in the country. Opeña captivated the judges with his unique concoctions, the Lemondrop Espresso Sunrise and Tsokolate Ehgg-nog, earning him a well-deserved spot on the judges’ scoreboard.

Reflecting on his journey, Opeña expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the recognition.

“This is my first time joining a competition of this caliber, and to receive such an honor is truly overwhelming. I’m happy and grateful to bring this award home to Coffee Project, where I’ve honed my skills and grown as a barista over the years,” Opeña said.

Opeña was one of eight participants who advanced to the Philippines National Finals, competing against over 150 submissions from baristas nationwide.
