Dining in paradise

Avatar

Its location gives the dining place a fantastic view overlooking the resort.

Boracay Island is undeniably one of the most beautiful destinations in the Philippines. Its white sand beaches and crystal blue waters have earned it international prominence and accolades over the years. In 2022, TIME magazine listed Boracay as one of the 50 “world’s greatest places of 2022.” New York based Travel and Leisure Magazine also listed Boracay as one of the “25 Best Islands of the World” that same year.

A lot of care and caution has been implemented around the island by the national and local governments in recent years to maintain its pristine beauty. A premier destination in the country, this piece of paradise on Earth is a popular travel spot for domestic and international tourists. The island offers rest, relaxation, exciting activities, amazing views, and gastronomic delights to all its visitors.

As one of the most visited places in the Philippines, Boracay Island has emerged as a hub for beautiful resorts, restaurants, and cafes. There is a lot to choose from depending on what type of experience you want to capture. Listed below are some of the most interesting places one can dine in to experience visual indulgence and memorable cuisine during their vacation in Boracay:

Rima Mediterranean Treetop Dining

A gem of Shangri-La Boracay is the Rima Mediterranean Treetop Dining. It is more enclosed among treetops and operates only in the evening. Its location gives the dining place a fantastic view overlooking the resort. Rima’s romantic and serene setting is enhanced by the Mediterranean favorites and excellent wines it offers. The resto has received TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence for its exquisite view and amazing fine dining experience.

Sirena Seafood Restaurant & Clifftop Bar

Shangri-La Boracay’s Sirena Seafood Restaurant & Clifftop Bar is a stylish dining option for those who want a more luxurious experience. It is perched on a clifftop above the beautiful blue waters of Boracay and the simple colors and outdoor spaces make the breathtaking sights stand out more. Sirena offers both a feast for the eyes and the stomach with its panoramic view of the sea and specialty dishes such as the seafood platter, which has the freshest and most indulgent seafood selections.

Forno Osteria

Located in one of the intimate corners of Discovery Shores Boracay, Forno Osteria is a fine Italian restaurant with clean interiors to match the classy vibe of its brick oven baked pizzas and mouthwatering steaks. Derived from the Italian words “Forno,” which means “oven”, and “Osteria,” which translates to “Italian restaurant serving wine and good food,” the restaurant features two industrial ovens, a pizza brick-oven and a Josper oven, at the center of its show kitchen.

The Josper grill, which originated in Barcelona in 1969, successfully combines the age-old art of grilling over charcoal and the conveniences of controlled cooking temperatures in an oven.

Indigo Restaurant

One of the most popular restaurants of Discovery Shores is the Indigo Restaurant. Its alluring interior coupled with the beautiful view of the white sand beach of Boracay makes the restaurant a popular choice for diners. Indigo serves a highly seasonal menu and has a wine program that’s among the best in the island, including bottles from old and new world wineries.

Cha Cha’s Beach Cafe

A visit to Cha Cha’s Beach Cafe makes one feel at home while on vacation. The cafe has high ceilings, tall decorations, stylish but comfortable furniture, and wide glass windows that fully make use of the beautiful beach view outside. The al fresco seating also has a frosted glass roof that matches the open view vibe of the cafe. The ambiance is fun and bright during the day but becomes serene and mellow in the evening. Both the main dishes and desserts are a must-try at this beach cafe.

Subo Boracay

A thematic restaurant, Subo Boracay takes the traditional Filipino ambiance and turns it into a complete experience. The restaurant is designed like an enlarged traditional Filipino mansion with a mix of new interiors. Everything from the roof to the chairs and the frosted colored windows pay respect to traditional Filipino motifs. The restaurant takes diners on a historical trip of the Philippines and its traditions, but with a modern take. The name Subo comes from the Filipino word to “eat” or “put something in the mouth,” and the menu brims with favorite Filipino dishes in portions meant for sharing, family-style.
