Walk, run, bike and skate along Villar Avenue every Sunday from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.
To encourage a more active and healthier lifestyle, Villar City is closing off a portion of its 18-km major thoroughfare to vehicles every Sunday to give way to pedestrians and cyclists. Through its “car-free Sundays”, Villar City provides a safe space where people–and their pets–can freely run, walk, bike and exercise without having to worry about dodging cars and other vehicles.
Those who want to learn about proper running form can join the free run clinic, also every Sunday, under coach Ben Tanner. The USA Track and Field endurance certified coach leads running drills and workouts and shares tips for improved running technique.
Fast Track: A Fun Run at Villar City
Running enthusiasts and those who simply want a fun way to spend their Sunday morning are invited to join “Fast Track: A Fun Run at Villar City” on Feb. 16.
The event features four race categories: 3k, 5k, 10k and the special 1k dog run, where your fur babies can participate with you. Those joining the dog run can dress their dogs in their coolest outfits for a chance to win a special prize.
Opening of Villar City Mountain Bike Trail
Bike heads and extreme sports enthusiasts, get your gear ready as Villar City opens its Mountain Bike Trail on Feb. 23. Soon, cyclists will get to have their very own space where they can pedal to their hearts’ content.
