The addition of the Villar City Stadium will further cement the city’s stature as a truly integrated estate that goes beyond typical urban planning.Golden MV Holdings’ Villar City will soon be home to a state-of-the-art sports facility, designed to empower local talent and champion Philippine sports.

The publicly listed firm has partnered with All-Star Properties Inc. for the 30,000-square meter Villar City Stadium, which is seen to redefine sports infrastructure in the Philippines as it will feature state-of-the-art courts and fields for basketball, volleyball, padel, pickleball, and badminton, and will house an impressive 3,000-seat football stadium with a FIFA-standard pitch.

This highly anticipated project seeks to overcome the long-standing challenge of access to top-tier sports venues, offering professional athletes state-of-the-art facilities while creating opportunities for sports enthusiasts to train and compete in a world-class environment.

Premier sports destination

To officially seal their partnership for this ambitious undertaking, Golden MV Holdings and All-Star Properties held a memorandum of agreement (MOA) signing on Sept. 28 at the Brittany Hotel Villar City in Bacoor, Cavite. Present at the signing were Villar Group chairman Manny Villar, Golden MV Holdings director Paolo Villar, All-Star Properties chairman Dan Palami, CEO Mel Macasaquit, and COO Misagh Bahadoran, who is part of the Philippine Azkals team.

Given their shared commitment to advancing local talent and fostering athletic development, the two companies will be leveraging their expertise and years of experience to create a truly premier destination for sports in the country.

“We envision a facility that will house everything that is all about sports. Our kababayans will now have the best option rather than enduring the traffic to go to other sports venues in Metro Manila just to compete or watch international sporting events. Moreover, they will also have the opportunity to experience the amenities and benefits of the most modern sports facility in the country,” said real estate magnate Manny Villar.

“Our aim is to always help and advance the interests of Philippine sports. Building a sports hub that features all the perks of a modern and state-of-the-art facility is a most welcome way to solve one of the perennial problems of sports development here in the country. The Stadium will not only be a venue but also the means to fast-track the development of several sports programs and projects in the country for many years to come,” added Palami, who is often referred to as the godfather of Philippine football.

Palami is the man behind the success of the Azkals and the meteoric rise of football in the country. He is also a key figure in the return to prominence of the University of the Philippines Men’s Basketball team at the UAAP.

Macasaquit—founder of MelMac Sports, a leading sports marketing agency—meanwhile expressed his gratitude for the trust shown by the Villar family.

“I am grateful to the Villars for their trust in our vision and empowering us in implementing the grand design for the Villar City Stadium. Together with the incredible team behind this project, all of whom are born winners, we hope to create a facility that will significantly contribute to the growth of Philippine sports,” Macasaquit said.
