Helios Pickleball facility breaks ground in Bridgetowne

Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) broke ground last week for Helios Pickleball, soon to be Asia’s first tournament-grade pickleball facility rising in the dynamic Bridgetowne estate in Pasig City.

The project, developed in partnership with Kosmas Athletic Ventures Corp. (KAVC), reflects RLC’s continued commitment to shaping purposeful developments that foster connection, inclusivity, and progress.

Set for completion by 2027, the 17,500-sqm Helios Pickleball will feature 25 indoor courts, allowing it to host both local and international tournaments regardless of weather.

The eight-story facility will dedicate six floors to sports and recreation, including a gym, sports clinic, and food and beverage outlets, while the remaining two levels will be allocated for basement parking.

Experience-led destinations

The groundbreaking also marked the introduction of Robinsons’ new Sports, Entertainment, and Recreation (SER) platform, a business unit focused on reimagining select RLC estates and malls as integrated lifestyle hubs that offer athletic and leisure experiences.

“This groundbreaking is especially significant as it marks the beginning of a new chapter for Robinsons Land, with the launch of our Robinsons’ SER, which transforms sports, entertainment and recreation. It is our new platform focused on building more vibrant, experienced-led destinations across our portfolio,” said RLC president and CEO Mybelle Aragon-Gobio.

Helios Pickleball serves as the first project under SER, setting the tone for more developments of similar scale and ambition.

“Through Robinson’s SER, we are expanding the way our spaces connect with people, not just through real estate, but through curated experiences that reflect evolving lifestyles and customer preferences. And this is just the beginning. We are poised to use even more sports entertainment and recreational offerings,” Aragon-GoBio added.

New hotel

Aragon-GoBio also expressed confidence in Bridgetowne’s readiness to host both national and international pickleball tournaments.

She explained that besides the facility, a Fili Hotel will also rise within Bridgetowne to provide accommodation for local and international players who will be participating in tournaments.

“But apart from that, we have three other hotels nearby. So there’s Westin in Mandaluyong. We have Crowne Plaza and also Holiday Inn. So it’s easy enough for us to house them and for them to be shuttled to the Helios facility,” she explained.

RLC also confirmed that additional sports and recreation facilities are in the pipeline, not just for Bridgetowne, but also for its other developments. While specific plans have yet to be disclosed, the company expressed its intent to diversify offerings beyond pickleball.
