Interior design trends for 2026
Interior design continues to evolve as spaces become more sensitive to cultural, environmental, and personal considerations. Whether for new or renovated spaces, here are some interior design trends forecast by industry leaders for 2026 that Filipino homes may adopt.

Warm, characterful colors
Warm colors and those that appeal to the emotions are what await us this year.
With several trend forecasts featuring browns, whites, and teals, Filipinos will find it easy to incorporate colors that bring simplicity, sophistication, and character into their homes. Accent colors of brown paired with an overall neutral palette will set the stage for more colors that bring deep emotional connections to spaces.

Joyful spaces and spaces designed for needs
Spaces that appeal to the emotions can be expressed not only through color but also across all interior design elements.
Finishes, furniture pieces, accessories, and décor that spark joy will be easy choices. Living areas filled with character that help relieve stress from busy environments (think comfortable couches, inspiring artwork, and soothing textures) will be sought after. Accessories that inspire, such as whimsical lamps or charming cabinet handles, will be prime features of spaces.
Spaces that are sensitive to each person’s needs—such as those for children and the elderly—and spaces designed with pets in mind will also be considered.

Textures that bring nature indoors
This year, patterns will continue to be expressed through texture.
With the variety of material finishes now being manufactured—from fluted panels, stone resins, and boldly veined natural stones—textures will continue to produce finishes that are more tactile rather than just visual. Natural finishes, or those that bring the outdoors in, will also fill walls, such as limewash paint and mixed wood finishes.

Layered lighting
Another exciting trend not to miss this year is the layering of lights, from general to mood lighting.
As more lighting fixture designs become available in the market, lighting may now be an experiential work of art. Dimmers, indirect lighting, and spotlights will make bringing character into spaces easier. Paired with new technologies such as app- and sensor-controlled lights, creating stories through light becomes more fun.

Intentional sustainability
For many years, sustainability seemed to be a growing philosophy adhered to by designers and homeowners.
This time, it becomes a necessity. Homes will be more intentional in their approach to designs, materials, and finishes that aid in lessening the harmful effects of interiors on the environment. Solar panels, locally sourced materials, and upcycled furniture pieces will be more common.
