Laguna finds its modern stride
Laguna has evolved into an ideal suburban destination, where progress and comfort come together to create a well-balanced environment for modern living.
Situated South of Manila, this charming province is strategically connected to major urban centers while maintaining easy access to nature, leisure destinations and sites of historical significance.
Economic powerhouse
Adding to its appeal is Laguna’s steady rise as an economic powerhouse. It was the largest provincial economy in the Philippines in 2022 and was recognized as the second most competitive province in the 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index rankings.
In 2025, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported that Laguna remained the only province in the country with a trillion-peso gross domestic product.
This economic strength is reflected in Laguna’s well-established industrial base, with the province among the first in the country to host a major private industrial estate.

The 471-ha Laguna Technopark, straddling Biñan and Santa Rosa, caters to light and medium non-polluting industries from local and global firms. Today, it hosts around 270 locator companies and generates over 100,000 jobs, attracting businesses and workers while helping drive surrounding residential growth.
Laguna’s strong progress is largely supported by the economic contributions of key cities such as Biñan.
Known as the “Trading and Commerce Center of the South,” Biñan ranked 7th most competitive component city and placed 1st in economic dynamism and innovation among component cities in the CMCI 2024 rankings. It was also recognized as the Most Business Friendly Local Government Unit Special Citation Awardee in 2022 during the 48th Philippine Business Conference and Expo.
Biñan also hosts the largest public market in Laguna and in the region, alongside numerous banking institutions and a growing number of commercial establishments and emerging shopping centers.
Ideal destination
Laguna is likewise an ideal destination for families seeking quality education.
It hosts several state universities, including Laguna State Polytechnic University, Pamantasan ng Cabuyao, Polytechnic University of the Philippines and the University of the Philippines Los Baños. It is also home to private colleges such as Lyceum of the Philippines University-Laguna, De La Salle Canlubang, San Sebastian College-Recoletos, Colegio de San Juan de Letran and the Malayan Colleges Laguna.

Right balance
Beyond modern conveniences, Laguna has managed to balance economic growth with the preservation of its heritage and history.
Biñan, for example, has preserved landmarks like Plaza Rizal (which retains the original Spanish town layout), the Historic Alberto Mansion, and the former school of national hero Dr. Jose Rizal. These stand as proof that a city can honor its roots while embracing change.
For those looking to unwind, the city is home to Splash Island, the Philippines’ premier water recreation theme park.
Biñan also offers a more relaxed residential atmosphere through its peaceful communities. This is reflected in the presence of masterplanned and well-integrated residential developments, reinforcing its appeal as a livable suburban hub.
Ultimately, Laguna offers a well-rounded suburban environment and a promising economic landscape.
