Newport World Resorts is Manila’s playground of epic discoveries

Amy Remo

There’s no place quite like Newport World Resorts—and that’s exactly the point.

The Philippines’ pioneer integrated resort gives you a gamut of reasons to discover more—reasons to come back, shop, wander a little, and perhaps, find something you probably didn’t expect but instantly love. It keeps things fresh by constantly reimagining what a great stay, a memorable meal, or an amazing night out can be.

And it’s not just variety for diversity’s sake—it’s curated, surprising, and always evolving. From five international hotels to over 70 dining spots, including the country’s first Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill and a world-class theater, there’s always something new to try, taste, or explore. And that’s what keeps guests coming back.

“We want this to be a playground for many different passion points, many different experiences that you’d like to have and enjoy,” Mitch Suarez, SVP for Marketing at Newport World Resorts, said in an interview with Inquirer Property.

Limitless, epic experiences

That drive to create limitless, epic experiences has defined Newport World Resorts from the start.

When it opened in 2009 as the Philippines’ first integrated resort complex, it had every reason to claim victory. Yet it chose to continuously challenge expectations of what a destination should be—not by overwhelming guests with options, but by having the right ones to ensure every visit leads to a new discovery.

This is embodied in its ongoing “Discover” campaign which, according to Suarez, is meant to entice people to see what’s new, what’s exciting, and what’s worth returning for.

Curated, not crowded

It’s actually easy to list the highlights of this “big, beautiful and multifaceted” destination.

Newport World Resorts has the most number of hotel keys in a single property in the country—over 2,200 rooms across Manila Marriott Hotel, Sheraton Manila Hotel, Hilton Manila, Hotel Okura Manila and Holiday Inn Express Manila.

It also features more than 70 dining outlets, including Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill and the The Whisky Library, home to Manila’s largest whisky collection.

With a 1,710-seating capacity, the Newport Performing Arts Theater offers a platform to celebrate Filipino talent and artistry. The function spaces in the complex—anchored the Marriott Grand Ballroom, touted as the largest indoor ballroom in the country—likewise make Newport a premier destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).

Add to that its prime location—across NAIA Terminal 3 via Runway Manila. It’s a location with leverage, turning Newport World Resorts into a convenient transit-connected hospitality hub.

Designed around the guest

Beyond the unrivaled range of offerings, Suarez firmly believes that it’s their customer-centric mindset that further sets Newport World Resorts a cut above the rest.

“When I say customer centricity, it means we put the customer at the center of everything that we do. It’s not just about customer service, but also about thinking ahead for the customer. What would make our customers stick? What would make them want to go to you? What would make you the preferred [destination] to our customers,” Suarez explained. “It’s putting the customers first and thinking of what their passion points are.”

This is evident in how it has evolved, particularly over the last five years. Even the physical space has been expanded, with the layout made easier to navigate. Everything has been connected—hotels, dining, events, retail, and casino—into one seamless experience.

This continues today, said Suarez, with new dining concepts anticipated to come in like Little Flour, Manam, Brotzeit, La Casa del Habano, as well as more SSI brands.

Even its entertainment continues to level up. Suarez said music icon Jose Mari Chan will take the stage for a two-night concert, joined by powerhouse performers Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Regine Velasquez, and Lani Misalucha. Newport’s Grand Countdown is pulling out all the stops with a star-studded celebration to be headlined by American Idol finalist Jessica Sanchez, with local stellar acts Cup of Joe, Sarah Geronimo, Matteo Guidicelli, and Bamboo.

From reimagined spaces and new dining destinations to exclusive offers and show-stopping entertainment, Newport World Resorts no doubt keeps raising the bar.

And this, according to Suarez, is the beauty of Newport World Resorts. No matter how many times you visit, there will always be something new for you to discover.
