Ovialand creates premier value for Filipino homeseekers
Homebuilder Ovialand Inc. has rewarded thousands of hardworking Filipinos with homes they can proudly call their own. It can take full credit for that feat because that has been the goal all along.
Premium affordable concept
The company pioneered the “premium affordable” concept in the residential segment, having witnessed how Filipino homebuyers aspired to own so much more than just a roof over their heads. They yearned for well-built homes within well-built communities, at attainable price points.
“… [We] just had to keep our focus on our homebuyers,” shared Pammy Olivares-Vital, president and CEO of Ovialand, in an article she wrote for Inquirer Property in 2024 to mark the company’s first decade in the business. “It was a journey to discover how we could transform our family business into a lasting legacy, not just for our own family but for all the families we serve.”
She referenced a moment in 2011 when, years before Ovialand was founded, its mother company Malate Construction & Development Corp. (MCDC) weathered a major shift in Pag-IBIG Fund policies.
MCDC, founded in 1986 to serve the socialized and low-cost segments, had only the government-owned fund as its home financing partner.
She noticed higher sensibilities in the homebuying market. Her observation led MCDC, in 2014, to establish Ovialand.
“… [The creation of Ovialand] was on the back of a firm belief that we can use all our experiences and shortcomings to create an enduring company, with the homebuyer at the center—a tribute to the Filipino family, our organization, our nation,” Olivares-Vital said.

Bar-raising addition
In 2015, Ovialand launched Terrazza de Santo Tomas in Santo Tomas, Batangas. It was—and still is—a bar-raising addition to the locale. It is an Italian-inspired village of well-built suburban homes, which would offer a glimpse into how the company saw value for money.
Today, Ovialand has built and turned over thousands of homes, with a strong presence in Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon, and a growing footprint in Bulacan.
To ensure any buyer would be happy with their investment, it follows the “premier family living” philosophy, which is built on three pillars, namely premier homes, premier communities, and premier services.
The first guarantees that each home is made of solid concrete, fully finished with quality materials, and built by skilled workers. They are built with both function and comfort in mind. Owners would also not be ashamed to show their aesthetic homes off to guests.
Those homes are also situated in safe, secure, and peaceful neighborhoods with family-centered amenities and reliable utilities such as water, electricity, and internet. This exemplifies the second pillar.
The third pillar encompasses a pleasant journey toward homeownership. A dedicated personal account officer helps clients decide on the best-suited home for them, guides them through the payment and loan application processes, and delivers them a move-in-ready home in as fast as six months.
That quick turnaround time is possible because of a proprietary precast housing technology that builds swiftly without compromising sturdiness.
Ovialand also offers innovative housing finance options, streamlined buying processes, and flexible payment terms.

Nationwide presence
Ovialand’s impetus has proven worthwhile, with the company now preparing to establish a presence nationwide by 2033.
And many have taken notice of Ovialand’s potential. In 2020, Januarius Holdings Inc. of mass housing veteran JJ Atencio acquired a 13-percent stake in the company. It also has various joint venture developments with Tokyo-based Takara Leben Co. Ltd.

The Takara Leben partnership began with Savana South and Sentro, both in San Pablo City, Laguna. The newest one, formalized just last November, is Anara, a 4.2-hectare project in Baliuag, Bulacan.
“In the next five years, we’re really going to be focusing on the emerging middle-class Filipino family,” Olivares-Vital said during the Nov. 24 ceremonies for Anara. “We want to give them the best akin to luxury without the luxury prices.”
However, amid all that promising expansion, the Filipino homebuyer remains and will always be the focus for Ovialand.
