Prosperity by design
Last month, I had the delightful privilege of hosting “Prosperity by Design”, a lively afternoon discussion where design, intention, and a touch of ancient wisdom came together to answer one question: Can your home attract abundance?
The event—hosted by Signature Series by SM Residences, with support from Inquirer Property—was graced by IDr. Chat Fores and feng shui practitioner Dr. Andy Tan, who both shared their insights on intentional living and how homes can invite harmony, balance, and prosperity.

Intentional living
In her talk, Chat reminded guests that the most stylish homes are not trend driven but rather future-proofed.
“Design your home for who you are becoming,” she stressed. “And please, don’t buy useless things.” Chat encouraged everyone to be more deliberate about what they bring into their homes. In a world of impulse buys and social media trends, she emphasized that every object should serve a purpose or hold meaning.
Her philosophy of intentional living was also refreshingly practical: declutter ruthlessly; create purposeful zones for rest, work, and family time; and make sure your home supports the routines that truly matter.
Even the layout counts. A well-connected bedroom, bathroom, and closet can reduce friction in your daily routines and more importantly, save precious minutes every day. Chat emphasized that good design should protect not only space, but also your time.
Clear circulation, multifunctional furniture, and well-lit spaces, she added, further allow a home to work quietly in the background, making your life smoother and more efficient.

Feng shui insights
Then came the fascinating feng shui insights of Andy, who pointed out that prosperity is not entirely accidental—it’s often about location, direction, and timing. Where a property sits, how a building faces, and even the numbers associated with it can influence energy flow and long-term success.
He also explained how elements such as color, orientation, and spatial flow can help spaces receive and retain good energy. When design aligns with natural forces and common sense, it supports harmony, productivity, and abundance.

Susana Heights: Primed for prosperity
Our spirited panel discussion, moderated by Inquirer Property Editor Tek Samaniego, also spotlighted why Susana Heights, the inaugural offering of Signature Series by SM Residences, is attracting attention as a location primed for prosperity.
Susana Heights offers a rare balance many families now seek—close enough to Metro Manila’s business districts for convenience, yet serene enough to feel like a retreat. Mature trees and open spaces create a community that is both livable today and promising for the future.
Signature Series is currently offering build-ready lots within the existing village, but it is expected to soon unveil its flagship residential community within the Susana Heights estate. This new, exclusive, and low-density enclave will feature more expansive residential lots ranging from 700 sqm to 1,100 sqm.
Backed by SM Prime Holdings, Signature Series also carries the confidence of a trusted brand and the potential for long-term value, making it appealing to both legacy-minded families and savvy investors.
But if there’s one thing we learned that afternoon, it’s this: prosperity is not just about luck—it’s about intention.
When our homes are designed thoughtfully, aligned with nature, and reflective of what truly matters, they naturally become spaces where abundance can flourish.
