Spectacular countdowns to welcome 2025 in style

Welcoming the new year is a cherished milestone for many—a moment that brings the comfort of reflecting on the achievements and challenges of the past year, coupled with the anticipation of embracing a fresh start filled with new possibilities.

Filipinos make sure to observe New Year’s Eve in the most festive way they can. For those who want to usher in 2025 in a more party-filled way, several shopping complexes, hotels, resorts, and city governments around the country are hosting their respective countdowns to cheerfully ring in the New Year.

Pasay City

SM Mall of Asia and GMA Kapuso’s Countdown 2025 promises to be a festive event featuring the P-pop boy group SB19 and performances from the stars of the channel including Julie Anne San Jose, Rayver Cruz, Bianca Umali, Christian Bautista, Aiai Delas Alas, Sanya Lopez, Ysabel Ortega, and Kyline Alcantara. The event will be hosted by Ruru Madrid.

The countdown party will take place at the Seaside Boulevard of SM Mall of Asia. Gates will open at 6:00 p.m., but the main show will start at 10:30 p.m. This event is free and will be livestreamed on GMA Network and other GMA online platforms.

Bonifacio Global City

The city government of Taguig (I Love Taguig) and Bonifacio Global City (BGC) co-presented by Coca-Cola Coke Studio, will be hosting a New Year’s Eve countdown featuring top OPM performers Sarah Geronimo and Rico Blanco, K-pop girl group ITZY, and British pop duo Honne. The countdown concert party will be held at the Fifth Avenue of Bonifacio High Street.

General admission will be free on a first come, first serve basis.

Quezon City

For a city as big as Quezon City, one can expect several New Year’s Eve events. The city government will be hosting its own countdown, free admission, at the Quezon Memorial Circle. The event will feature several top local acts like Ely Buendia, Ben and Ben, and Kamikazee.

In Eastwood City, Megaworld Corp. will have its iconic New Year countdown at the newly renovated Eastwood Mall Open Park and will feature OPM artists including KZ Tandingan, TJ Monterde, Janine Teñoso, Barbie Almalbis, Dionela, and DIONE.

In the other parts of the city, Solaire Resort North, which opened last May 2024, will have its New Year’s Eve party featuring Grammy Award-winning performer Ne-Yo, DJ Soda, and performance groups Jabbawockeez, Avantgardey, BGYO, and Beast House Philippines.

Bagac, Bataan

Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, a heritage-themed resort in the province of Bataan, will celebrate New Year’s Eve with live performances by The Bloomfields, a festive dinner, and a cultural show. It will also feature a breathtaking fireworks display over the timeless beauty of Las Casas.

Cebu City

On December 31, Cebu City will celebrate both its New Year’s Day countdown and Sinulog Kick-Off at Plaza Independencia. The city’s tourism site boasts of an unforgettable celebration featuring DJ Jennifer Lee, Nexxus Band, and Rivermaya. Celebrating New Year’s Eve at the city organized event promises an occasion filled with live music, delicious local treats, and a spectacular fireworks display as Cebu City welcomes the year 2025 and kicks off the Sinulog festivities in grand style.

Iloilo City, Iloilo

Ilonggos can expect an exciting countdown for the New Year with a musical fireworks display at Drilon Bridge.

According to the local government, there will be a 12- to 15-minute fireworks show that will be free for the public, with a view from the Freedom Grandstand. The Dragon Fireworks, champions of the 2018 Montreal Fireworks Festival, will perform the show, offering a world-class spectacle. The event is part of the city’s effort to support the national “Iwas Paputok” campaign.

Iligan City will have a grand welcome of 2025 at the Iligan River Esplanade in Brgy. Santiago. The city government promises a night filled with spectacular performances, fun vibes, and an unforgettable celebration. Event highlights include performances of three local bands, a night market at the esplanade, and fireworks display.
