Sta. Lucia continues to take lead in Philippine golf

For decades, Sta. Lucia Land has been at the forefront of golf course development in the Philippines, building world-class fairways that host prestigious tournaments and thriving golf communities.
Its commitment is evident in the quality of its developments, created in collaboration with top golfers and renowned course designers. The result: expertly designed greens that continue to elevate the country’s golf sector.

Championship courses
One of these developments is the Orchard Golf and Country Club in Cavite, designed by golf legends Arnold Palmer and Gary Player.
Renowned as one of the country’s premier golfing destinations, it boasts of two world-class 18-hole championship courses, which have hosted numerous international tournaments, including the prestigious 1995 Johnnie Walker Classic.
Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club in Cavite, meanwhile, was designed by golf greats Isao Aoki, Nick Faldo, Andy Dye, and Greg Norman. Featuring four championship courses, it stands as one of Asia’s largest golfing enclaves, attracting both seasoned players and avid enthusiasts.

In Mindanao, South Pacific Golf Club, also designed by Palmer, features an 18-hole championship course spread across 70 hectares of rolling greens.
“We have made it our mission to develop golf courses that will continue to challenge and excite golfers for both beginners and veterans. I am proud to say that up until now, our developments remain to be a top choice for golfers and a preferred venue for tournaments. We really want to continuously promote golf in the country and find ways to strengthen our presence in the global scene,” said Sta. Lucia Land president Exequiel Robles.

Shaping the future of Philippine golf
Beyond its impressive portfolio, Sta. Lucia Land indeed continues to shape the future of Philippine golf with various programs.
Recently, a golf tournament for teens called Teens Tour by Sta. Lucia was organized by Sta. Lucia Land chair Vicente R. Santos, together with Pinewoods and Lakewood Golf Club general manager Tom B. Clemente III, Beverly Place and South Pacific Golf Club general manager Elson B. Alvaran, and Orchard director of Golf, Francis Montallana, and with Golf-Mix Inc., a golf events organizer.

“I have made it my mission to conduct tournaments and golf training among club member’s dependents, club employees and caddies with the help of the different board of directors and general managers of our various golf clubs. I believe such programs would help us further promote the growth of the game in the country,” Santos said.
He added: “We even have clubs who waive green fees for junior golfers while others have Women’s Day wherein female golfers only have to pay for their golf carts and other minor fees.”
With its legacy of excellence, visionary leadership, and an ever-expanding portfolio of premier golf developments, Sta. Lucia Land remains a top contributor of the Philippines’ rise as a world-class golf destination—where every fairway tells a story of precision, passion, and prestige.
