Villar City builds the future of the South

Few developments in the Philippines match the scale and ambition of Villar City.
At 3,500 hectares spanning 11 cities and towns in Metro South, Villar City stands as one of the most comprehensive examples of a privately-led urban development in the country. As the South’s next growth corridor, it moves beyond the conventions of mixed-use planning as the Villar Group builds infrastructure that fuels enterprise and complementary districts that create natural synergies across a rapidly expanding urban network.

A network of distinct districts
This masterplanned vision is coming to life in Villar City through its “city within a city” model—a network of distinct districts, each with its own identity yet fully self-sustaining.
For instance, Evia serves as the city’s arts, cultural and retail showcase, Emporia as the commercial and trade engine, and University Town (UTown) as a rising center for learning and innovation. Individually, these districts stand complete yet they collectively create a cohesive metropolis tied by infrastructure arteries such as the Villar Avenue, the Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway, and other future transport extensions connecting the broader South.
Clearly, Villar City has been thoughtfully designed for balance and long-term growth, ensuring sustained momentum toward a smarter, more sustainable future.

Leisure as economic catalyst
The next stage of Villar City’s evolution will further solidify its role as a truly complete and self-sustaining megacity.
Plans include The Stadium at Villar City, a 30,000 sqm facility that will feature state-of-the-art courts and fields for basketball, volleyball, padel, pickleball, and badminton, and will house an impressive 3,000-seat football stadium. There’s also the 18-hole golf course, to be designed by the US-headquartered Curley-Wagner Golf Design.
These assets extend the city’s value beyond mere commercial and residential growth, turning leisure into a powerful economic catalyst that draws tourism, hospitality ventures, and event-driven commerce.
Essentially, Villar City is shaping a model of development where quality of life translates directly into long-term property appreciation and business opportunity. It’s a philosophy that has begun taking shape in the way the city engages with the community—most recently, through sports.

Powering sports
From October 13 to 22 for instance, Villar City is proudly hosting the national archers for their official training camp ahead of the Southeast Asian Games in Bangkok this December. Sixteen athletes, along with three coaches and officials from World Archery Philippines (WAP), are staying at Brittany Hotel Villar City while holding daily practices in the city’s open fields.
Villar Group founder Manny Villar welcomed the team personally, noting that they are “delighted to welcome the Philippine Archery National Team as they begin their training in Villar City. We’re proud to be part of their journey as they get ready to represent the country in the SEA Games this December in Bangkok, Thailand. Wishing them all the best as they aim for gold.”

The setting provided an ideal mix of open space, accessibility, and calm—a contrast to the isolated sports complexes where such camps are often held.
For Villar City, hosting the national archers shows how the megacity’s open spaces, accessibility, and modern facilities are shaping a truly dynamic and livable environment. It also demonstrates that sports development can flourish even in urban settings when such spaces are designed to encourage movement and focus.
Indeed, as it continues to grow, Villar City is redefining what modern urban development can be: balanced, purposeful, and profitable. It’s no doubt one burgeoning megacity built to move, evolve, and lead the South’s next chapter of progress.
