Football feted in CPC awards for first time

The top football players in the UAAP and NCAA will get their dues from the Collegiate Press Corps as they are honored for the first time in their annual awards night, which will be held this year at Discovery Suites in Pasig City at the end of the month.
“With football players in the spotlight this time around, this is our own little way of immortalizing what they have done not just for their respective schools, but also for collegiate sports as a whole,” said CPC president John Bryan Ulanday of The Philippine Star.
Basketball and volleyball players have shared the limelight ever since the UAAP and NCAA covering media merged to become the CPC in 2022, and the men’s and women’s Players of the Year races from both sports seem to be a tough one this time around.
Coaches of the Year from basketball and volleyball will also be named, even as the NCAA will be feted after it just concluded its 100th Season.
UAAP executive director Atty. Rebo Saguisag, sports director Bo Perasol of UAAP Season 87 host University of the Philippines and management committee board chairman Herc Callanta of NCAA Season 100 host Lyceum of the Philippines University will serve as guests of honor and speakers.
Also to be honored are the Collegiate Men’s Basketball Player of the Year and the Collegiate Women’s Basketball Player of the Year.
