Go, Cabiguen seize Ironkids spotlight

PUERTO PRINCESA, PALAWAN—Cebu’s Emmanuel Go showcased his endurance and speed to clinch the boys’ 13-15 title, while Jedwright Mielle Cabiguen made a dominant Ironkids debut in the girls’ division at the RLC Residences Ironkids event, held Saturday at Ramon Mitra Jr. Sports Complex.
Despite placing 11th in the 250-meter swim (02:54), Go, representing Paref Springdale School, powered through with the event’s fastest 2-kilometer run (07:43) to secure victory with an 11:06 total time. He edged out Ezekhiel Go, who posted a faster swim (02:44) but settled for second with 11:07. Zachary Angelo Da Silva took third in 11:23.
Cabiguen dominated her debut, finishing in 15:05 with strong swim (03:29) and run (11:01) performances, fending off Dominique Aragones (15:25) and Dean Angela Cuzon (15:41) to claim top honors.
In the 11-12 division (200m swim, 1.5km run), Henia Go dominated the girls’ race, finishing in 10:33 (03:29 swim, 06:28 run). Saffi Son (11:58) and Stesha Viray (12:02) rounded out the podium. Fraizer Ygot ruled the boys’ category in 11:09 (03:22 swim, 07:23 run), ahead of Roger Lagasca (11:49) and Dean Christoff Cuzon (11:54).
The 9-10 group (150m swim, 1.5km run) saw Zoe Angel Da Silva claim victory in the girls’ race at 10:45, while Kai Takei ruled the boys’ division in 10:18. Elli Boleng (11:44) and Andrea Gumaya (12:10) finished second and third in the girls’ category, while Cian Mendoza (11:07) and Amir Kian Buensuceso (11:11) completed the boys’ podium.
