HD Spikers add another offensive piece in Santos

Cignal signed a fourth free agent in Erika Santos on Friday, as the HD Spikers are showing no signs of letting up in assembling the best possible team that could compete for a PVL title.
Santos is the biggest catch in the offseason for the HD Spikers, who already collared Tin Tiamzon, Heather Guino-o and Ethan Arce earlier this month to join their core made up of Alas Pilipinas stars Dawn Catindig, Vanie Gandler and rising star Ishie Lalongisip.
New chapter
The 5-foot-9 opposite spiker, who turned pro in 2022 and spent four seasons with PLDT, was 17th overall in scoring in the 2024 to 2025 All-Filipino Conference with 161 points.
Santos also placed sixth among all opposite spikers in total points and ranked sixth in spiking efficiency with a 32.84% success rate.
“I am very thankful and grateful,” Santos said after being introduced as the newest team member. “I just hope to bring to the team what I was able to do last season, and also improve under our coaches and trainers here.
“This is a new chapter in my career and I’m looking forward to it,” the former La Salle standout said. “And that is helping this team reach the heights they really want which is a PVL championship.” she added.
With Santos signed, coach Shaq delos Santos is hoping that her experience, versatility and scoring ability will bolster the team’s offensive firepower and add depth to their rotation heading into the upcoming conference.
