Kaya, Stallion lead PFF women’s league cast

The champions of the last two domestic competitions know they have to prove themselves once more as they aim to rule the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Women’s League, which kicks off on March 22 at SM Mall of Asia Sky Football Pitch.

Kaya Iloilo is seeking to defend the title it won in 2023 while Stallion Laguna is out for more silverware after claiming last year’s PFF Women’s Cup in the league that will also be participated by four professional and amateur clubs.

Capital1, which made a splash earlier in the week by unveiling its entry in the women’s football scene, is eager to challenge Kaya and Stallion for the title, while UAAP sides University of Santo Tomas (UST) and University of the Philippines (UP) plus Ang Liga U-19 winner Makati FC are hoping to make a good impression.

“We know that we have to work as hard as last season, but we’re very excited to start and prove ourselves,” said Stallion striker Chandler McDaniel, who starred in Laguna’s run to the Cup title.

McDaniel and sister Olivia will lead Stallion’s title bid while Kaya’s title-retention aspiration rests on the leadership of Filipinas team captain Hali Long.

Kaya, however, won’t be having its coach Let Dimzon, who has joined Capital1 that will have Regine Rebosura, Hazel Lustan and Lyka Teves plus Americans Arianna del Moral and Emma Young.
