Nxled begins rebuilding phase with huge signings
Nxled kicked off a massive rebuilding program with key signings that will impact the team’s development immediately, the team announced on Tuesday.
Hoping to shine brighter when the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference opens, the Chameleons signed veteran outside hitter Jonah Sabete, crafty setter Djanel Cheng and middle blockers Ranya Musa, Aby Maraño and Aduke Ogunsanya to boost not just their talent level but their experience as well.
Sabete, Cheng and Musa played key roles in Petro Gazz’s four PVL championships and could instantly turn Nxled into contenders, which the team hopes to be by pursuing top-notch talents who are currently without contracts.
Maraño is a free agent following the disbandment of Chery Tiggo. She and Ogunsanya, who was left unsigned by Choco Mucho, are expected to add size and stability to a frontline that already includes Krich Macaslang and Jaycel Delos Reyes.
To create roser space, Nxled parted ways with Jaila Atienza, Maji Mangulabnan, Lycha Ebon, Rachel Jorvina and Jaja Maraguinot.
Atienza has since signed with Choco Mucho, Jorvina moved to Capital1, while Ebon found a new home with the revamped Galeries Tower.
Among the key holdovers from the Etorre Guidetti-coached squad are team captain Chiara Permentilla, fourth overall pick Lyann de Guzman, EJ Laure, Jovelyn Fernandez, Lucille Almonte, Mayang Nuique and Macaslang.
