Team Philippine gymnast Levi Jung-Ruivivar had a Paris Olympics 2024 experience to remember.

Even if it’s a moment she would rather forget.

Jung-Ruivivar bared that she had an allergic reaction that caused her to have difficulties in her first week inside the Olympic Village, just days before the opening of the Summer Games.

The 18-year-old prodigy uploaded a video on Instagram journaling how her wild experience of having an anaphylactic reaction.

“I guess you could say I had an Olympics experience like no other,” said Jung-Ruivivar in her video. “It definitely was a stressful night and something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”

On Monday, Jung-Ruivivar was walking around Olympic Village when she suddenly had a severe allergic reaction.

The California-raised Filipino said she has anaphylactic tree nut allergies but when the incident occurred, Jung-Ruivivar said she was “unaware” of what caused the reaction because she hadn’t ingested anything just three hours prior to the reaction.

Fortunately for her, fellow Filipina gymnast Aleah Finnegan was with her at that moment and ultimately helped her get medical attention.

“Luckily, my teammate Aleah was so incredibly helpful and I had so many people supporting me and I got the medical attention I needed at this moment.”

Jung-Ruivivar said her body’s still recovering but all signs point to a full recovery.

On Friday (Manila time), Jung-Ruivivar posted a few snapshots of her already practicing on a podium with fellow Team Philippines gymnasts Finnegan and Emma Malabuyo.

“My body’s still recovering but that’s not going to stop me from competing in these Olympics.”
