Tambalque routs 15-18 Caliraya field after a 70

CAVINTI, Laguna–Patrick Tambalque closed out with a two-under-par 70 on Friday to provide for an anti-climactic ending to the centerpiece 15-18 boys’ division title chase of the ICTSI Caliraya Springs Junior PGT Championship.
The pint-sized wonder tallied 208 over 54 holes to win the event by a whopping nine shots over Kristffer Nadales, who assembled a 66 under overcast skies to snatch second place from Zach Villaroman, who fired a 75, even as Rafa Anciano ruled the girls’ division with a 74 for a three-shot win over Levion Tallon.
Tambalque started the day holding a six-shot lead over Villaroman but never abandoned his game plan as he broke away for his second win of the season.
Anciano, meanwhile, took advantage of overnight leader Chloe Rada’s sloppy start to claim control, before the Sherwood and Splendido Taal champ played it smart the rest of the way to keep Talion in check.
Tambalque and Anciano thus joined Jacob Casuga and Mona Sarines (11-14 division), as well as Zach Guico and Winter Serapio (7-10 division), in the expanding roster of champions in the circuit launched by ICTSI in 2023 to provide young, aspiring golfers with a competitive platform to develop and showcase their talent.
