Vet Molina’s playoff edge adds to Foxies’ bite
Ces Molina brings her playoff-tested game to the fast-rising Farm Fresh Foxies, who finished the PVL Reinforced Conference eliminations with their best record in franchise history.
The Foxies posted a 7-1 slate and enter Monday’s quarterfinals against No. 8 seed and last year’s runner-up Akari, riding a four-game win streak.
Signed last July after a break following her departure from Cignal, Molina returns to the PVL knockout stage with a wealth of playoff experience. She previously led her former team to multiple podium finishes, including two silvers and several bronzes.
Now, the veteran outside hitter is determined to help Farm Fresh reach the same heights.
“I’ve been to the playoffs and the podium before—it’s not impossible for Farm Fresh too,” said Molina, who had 14 points and 17 digs in a sweep of Chery Tiggo on Thursday. “With our mix of veterans and young players, I feel we’re already halfway there.”
Farm Fresh also reached the quarterfinals last year, only to be ousted by Akari. This time, with added firepower and experience from Molina, setter Alohi Robins-Hardy and import Eli Rousseaux, the Foxies look more formidable. Young talents Trisha Tubu, Lorene Toring, Rizza Cruz and Alyssa Bertolano round out the dynamic core.
“No one knows what’s next, but we’re preparing hard,” Molina said. “We’re proud of this 7-1 start. It feels like a fresh beginning, and I’m happy to be part of this journey.”
Coach Alessandro Lodi praised Molina’s humility and drive.
“She’s a great role model—humble, committed and always looking to improve,” he said.
Molina, in turn, credits Lodi for shaping her mindset.
“Coach reminds us to stay clear and present. I’m grateful for his system,” she said.
