Waters builds pickleball profile with new role

Francis Ochoa

Anna Leigh Waters, the world’s top-ranked pickleball player and one of the sport’s biggest stars, has added another role to her growing profile as pickleball continues its rapid expansion around the globe.

Waters has been named a global sports ambassador for IAM Worldwide, linking the multi-titled champion with the health and wellness company as it expands its presence in sports.

The partnership comes with pickleball enjoying significant growth beyond its North American roots, including in Asia, where the paddle sport has attracted recreational players and a developing competitive community.

The Philippines has been part of that surge, with more courts and dedicated pickleball facilities opening as the sport gains followers across different age groups.

At the center of pickleball’s international rise is Waters, whose success has made her one of the most recognizable athletes in the sport. Her new ambassador role also comes at a time when the sport is establishing a stronger foothold in the Philippines.

Her standing at No. 1 and her record of success made Waters a natural choice for IAM Worldwide, which cited her discipline, consistency and commitment to high-level performance in selecting her as an ambassador.

“Partnering with IAM Worldwide felt entirely natural for me,” Waters said. “Everything I do on and off the court comes down to focus, discipline, and performing at my best.”
