The red carpet will be rolled out on Friday as the third staging of the Women in Sports Awards honors outstanding Filipina athletes and sports leaders at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.

Organized by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Philippine Commission on Women, the event aims to highlight successful Filipino women athletes as role models and recognize the contributions of women leaders in Philippine sports.

PSC Commissioner and bowling legend Bong Coo said the ceremony will hand out 83 awards and reinforce national efforts to promote inclusive sports development and gender equality.

“We must really give special attention to our women athletes, including our para athletes—not just the athletes and their coaches, but also those who help build and promote women’s sports,” Coo said during Tuesday’s Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum at the PSC Media Room.

The Philippine women’s national football team, known as the Filipinas, will be honored as the 2025 Athletes of the Year.

Para swimmer Angel Mae Otom will receive the Para Athlete of the Year award, while Brenda Ramos Zinampan will be recognized with the Masters award.
