EJ Obiena fan meet at Ayala Malls Manila Bay sparks Filipinos’ passion for sports
Ayala Malls Manila Bay recently hosted another world-class sports event, featuring Asia’s top pole vaulter and celebrated Filipino athlete, EJ Obiena, in “High Flying Hangout with EJ Obiena” last Sept. 15.
Inspiring people
Hundreds of fans gathered at Ayala Malls Manila Bay for an action-packed afternoon, where Filipinos had the unique opportunity to meet EJ up close. The event included a meet and greet, photo opportunities with EJ and 300 lucky fans, and a heartwarming discussion with EJ and other elite Filipino athletes.
Notable athletes such as volleyball phenom Alyssa Valdez, women’s football team captain Hali Long, and karate gold medalist Jamie Lim joined EJ Obiena in sharing intimate glimpses into their journeys and lives as athletes representing the Philippines.
Their stories aimed to inspire more people, especially the younger generation, to engage in sports and contribute to nation-building.
Strong advocate for sports
The event also served as a fundraising effort for “EJ’s 6-Meter Initiative,” which aims to elevate the future of Filipino athletics by installing pole vaulting pits across the country. Ayala Malls Manila Bay is proud and honored to support this initiative by hosting the event.
As a strong advocate for sports and community building, Ayala Malls Manila Bay aims to provide a venue where athletes and dreamers can thrive in a community of shared spaces and passion. It offers dedicated spaces for various sports, including table tennis, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and taekwondo.
In addition to hosting events like “High Flying Hangout with EJ Obiena,” Ayala Malls Manila Bay has also hosted international sports tournaments such as the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Manila, and Southeast Asia Pacific International Fencing Competition as well as national competitions like the Philippine National Table Tennis Team Selections and the Philippine Taekwondo Championships.
Ayala Malls Manila Bay has served as the exclusive mall venue partner for the Batang Pinoy and the Philippine National Games, which hosted 10,000 athletes.
