The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) made a presentation to the Senate to discover more talents worthy of representing the country in the future.

Chair Richard Bachmann appeared before Senate Committee on Sports and Youth chairman Sen. Bong Go, detailing the agency’s roadmap all the way to 2028 that zeroes in on grassroots participation and establishment of platforms where athletes can be discovered and developed.

Bachmann showed the significance of the Batang Pinoy Games, the Philippine National Games and the Philippine National Para Games as among the key programs.

“We ensure inclusivity through our programs for all ages, for the PWDs, for the recognition of women’s participation and the indigenous peoples,’’ said Bachmann during their budget hearing presided by Go.

Bachmann detailed how the PSC intends to manage its budget allocation for an assortment of programs designed to push forward sports participation across all sectors of society.

“I will never grow tired of supporting sports. My only request is for them to use these funds properly. Let’s give it back to the people through effective service, especially for our athletes,’’ said Go.

The Batang Pinoy Games is the talent-discovery engine of the PSC, with the event aimed at scouring the countryside in search of future national talents 17 years old and younger in a wide array of sports. This year’s multievent sports fest will be hosted by Puerto Princesa City in Palawan from Nov. 23 to 28.
