Shared values of peace, prosperity and progress
The Swiss Embassy in Manila celebrated Swiss National Day in August at the Enderun Tent.
It was a heartfelt gathering that featured a performance by the AJ Kalinga Foundation Choir.
During the event, both the rich history of Switzerland and its relationship with the Philippines were highlighted.
Switzerland Ambassador Dr. Nicolas Brühl shared how, despite geographical distance, the shared values of peace, prosperity, and progress have guided the two countries’ efforts to strengthen ties.
This common vision is evident in several initiatives, such as the free trade agreement, Switzerland’s contribution to the peace process in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Mindanao and the United Nations Joint Program on Human Rights.
The celebration also recognized the Swiss-Filipino community and Filipinos residing in Switzerland, who serve as living bridges between the two countries. Their contributions to business, culture and society exemplified the spirit of a global community.
As the celebration concluded, Brühl shared his hope for the continued thriving of the Swiss Confederation and the strengthening of friendships between the two countries.
