2001 bar topnotcher is new DoubleDragon prexy

DoubleDragon Corp. has appointed a new president, bar topnotcher Rodolfo Ma. Ponferrada, effective March 1.
He succeeds Ferdinand Sia, who is promoted to vice chair, while remaining as director.
Cofounder Edgar Sia II remains as CEO and chair, while cofounder Tony Tan Caktiong stays as cochair.
Ponferrada, a former managing partner of Ponferrada & San Juan Law Office, previously served as president of Alphaland Corp. He was the general counsel of the Robert V. Ongpin Group of Companies. He placed No. 1 in the 2001 Philippine Bar examinations.
The reorganization was in line with “preparations toward establishing a larger and stronger DoubleDragon Corp. from 2025 to 2035 and aligns with the company’s vision to transition into a true Tier 1 company by the end of this year,” Sia II said.
“As of now, DoubleDragon Corp. is one of the few companies in the Philippines with footprint and significant investments all over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, as far as Aparri in Luzon and as far as Basilan, Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat in Mindanao, bringing lasting and impactful economic progress in the countryside,” Tan Caktiong added.
The company is targeting to reach P500 billion in revenues by 2035.
To achieve this, DoubleDragon wants to make condotel chain Hotel101 Global available in 100 countries.
