BIZ BUZZ: RLC’s Fili wins before doors open

Fili Hotel Bridgetowne is collecting honors before it starts collecting bookings.

The upcoming Robinsons Hotels and Resorts (RHR) property won Asia’s Leading New Luxury Hotel Development Project 2026 at the World Travel Awards, beating three other contenders.

Expected to open in 2027, the hotel will bring the group’s homegrown luxury brand to Metro Manila, following its flagship at NUSTAR Integrated Resort in Cebu.

Fili takes its name from “Filipino,” with local art and craftsmanship woven into its design.

For Robinsons Land Corp. president and CEO Mybelle Aragon-GoBio, the recognition supports the company’s bet that Filipino talent can build a luxury hotel brand capable of competing internationally.

The Bridgetowne project also won Best Hotel Development at the 2025 PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards.

Its latest honor was part of a broader haul for RHR, which secured its second consecutive Philippines’ Leading Hotel Group award.

Grand Summit Hotel General Santos won Philippines’ Leading City Hotel, while Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu took Philippines’ Leading Family Resort.
