Anko poised to have 5 stores by end-2025

Australian home and lifestyle brand Anko is set to have five stores by the end of this year as its local partner Ayala Corp. (AC), operator of Glorietta, Greenbelt and TriNoma through Ayala Land Inc., bets big on the growing retail space.
AC managing director Mark Robert Uy, in a press briefing last week in Makati, announced the opening of additional two stores “in the next couple of months” in Metro Manila.
He said the exact locations are yet to be finalized. While the stores have been put up in Ayala-owned malls so far, Uy said they might also establish outlets in other retail spaces.
The KMart Australia subsidiary opened its first store in the Philippines and in Asia at Glorietta 2 Mall in Makati last November 2024.
The second store is set to be launched at Alabang Town Center, Muntinlupa next month. By July, the third store in TriNoma will welcome customers.
“Currently, we’re focused on really growing Anko to its full potential because we think it’s really catering to a major pinpoint in this market,” Uy said.
Cezar Consing, president and CEO of the Zobel family-led conglomerate, said the retail venture’s “initial results look quite exciting.”
“Retail is clearly a very fast-growing segment of the market,” Consing said. “So we want to build on that.”
According to the Philippine Retailers Association, the retail sector is likely to grow by 5 percent to 10 percent this year, translating to about P5 trillion in gross value.
Uy said they were also looking at expanding the company’s retail portfolio after Anko’s entry, citing clothing, food and beauty as potential growth segments.
“What we’re trying to do is we’re trying to offer great value to customers and we’ll continue to be on the lookout for brands that are relevant to the Filipino consumers,” he said.
