QC, DOLE hold job fairs

The Quezon City government on Wednesday said more than 11,000 job opportunities will be available in its 2025 Labor Day Job Fair today, as the city pushes for inclusive employment.
The city government said around 100 private companies and government agencies, spanning various industries and sectors, will be participating at the job fair, which will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the QC Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibitions (MICE) Center at City Hall.
Also to mark Labor Day, the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) is holding its own job fair at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. The launch of the job fair will be attended by President Marcos, according to Dole.
More than 216,144 local and overseas job vacancies from 2,281 participating employers will be offered in 68 other confirmed job fair sites nationwide, Dole said on Wednesday.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, in a statement, said: “Through (the QC) job fair, we are delivering on our commitment to create a city where every resident has access to decent, meaningful work. In Quezon City, we believe that employment is not just a livelihood—it is empowerment, dignity, and a pathway to a better future.”
Among the major employers joining the Quezon City fair are Abacus Book and Card Corp. (National Bookstore), Andok’s Litson Corp., Asia Brewery Inc., Global Officium Limited Inc. (Hotel Sogo), Max’s Kitchen Inc., JAC Liner Company, Robinsons Supermarket Corp., Sanford Marketing Corp. (Savemore Market), Savory Fastfood Inc. (Classic Savory), Super Shopping Market Inc. (SM Hypermarket), Super Value, Inc. (SM Supermarket), Solaire Resort North, UnionBank, and Zest-O Corp., among others.
Top available positions include customer service representatives, office staff, cashiers, drivers, service crew, sales associates, merchandisers, electricians, encoders, and kitchen staff, among others.
The city government advised applicants to bring multiple copies of their updated résumé and a valid ID, and to dress appropriately for interviews.
Free résumé printing services will also be available on site. A one-stop shop for government services will also be set up.
Agencies, such as the Social Security System, Philippine Health Insurance Corp., Pag-Ibig and Philippine Statistics Authority, will offer onsite registration and ID issuance, while the National Bureau of Investigation and the Philippine National Police will issue essential employment clearances.
Quezon City residents can also apply for or claim their QCitizen ID cards at the venue. —REPORTS FROM PNA AND JEROME ANING
