BIZ BUZZ: Fabian Dee named best bank CEO in PH
Metrobank president Fabian Dee is on cloud 9 these days.
Not only was his bank named the Best Managed Bank in the Philippines at the recently held 2025 The Asian Banker Leadership Achievement Awards, he was also named the Best Bank CEO.
The Asian Banker recognized Dee “for his visionary leadership in strengthening fundamentals, expanding the business, advancing operational excellence, cultivating talent and driving digital innovation.”
Metrobank, meanwhile, was given the coveted award as it was able to sustain profitability despite the formidable challenges through prudent lending, disciplined cost management and sound asset quality.
It was also cited for its responsible credit strategies, active risk management and solid capital base that helped it expand its portfolio responsibly over the years.
Dee said that he shares his award with the entire Metrobank organization, emphasizing that leadership “is never a one-man effort.”
“These awards belong to every Metrobanker who shows up every day with commitment and care, ensuring we are keeping true to our purpose of helping Filipinos build a better future by always being the good hands of Metrobank,” Dee told Biz Buzz.
