Ex-PNP spox, 3 other officials get new posts

The Philippine National Police has reassigned four ranking officials, including Directorate for Comptrollership head Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, to new posts effective on Sept. 6.
In an order with the same date that was released by the PNP to the media on Monday, acting PNP chief Lt. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. assigned Fajardo to the Area Police Command-Eastern Mindanao, along with Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete, formerly with the Area Police Command for Southern Luzon.
Maj. Gen. Westrimundo Obinque, former head of the National Police Training Institute (NPTI), replaced Fajardo as comptrollership chief while Maj. Gen. Christopher Birung was named NPTI head.
Fajardo was also relieved last month as PNP spokesperson, a post she was appointed to in 2022.
She also served as the concurrent comptrollership director under former PNP chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III, whose term lasted only 85 days after he was abruptly ordered relieved by President Marcos last month.
