Autonis Award 2025 hails design excellence of new Bentley Continental GT
Leading German automotive magazine auto motor und sport honored the Bentley Continental GT with the Autonis Award 2025. This follows the Best Car in the Luxury Class award received by the definitive grand tourer from the publication.
Both awards are determined by reader votes, reaffirming the Continental GT’s position as the benchmark in the ultra luxury class. The Autonis accolade recognizes design excellence, while the Best Car award highlights the model’s overall appeal in performance, luxury, and craftsmanship.
Bentley Chairman and CEO Dr Frank-Steffen Walliser accepted the Autonis trophy in the awards program held in Stuttgart, Germany.
The new fourth-generation Continental GT was introduced in the Philippines earlier this year. Alongside the Bentayga Hybrid and Flying Spur Hybrid, the model completes Bentley’s electrified range in the country.
Hallmarking the new Continental GT’s design excellence is an exterior defined by the most significant update to the Continental GT model line in two decades. It features Bentley’s new design DNA while also retaining core design elements from the Bentley’s iconic 1953 R Type Continental.
At the core of the new Continental GT is the Ultra Performance Hybrid system that pairs a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine with an electric motor. Together, it produces 782 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque — the most powerful figures for a production Bentley — and offers more than 80 kilometers of electric driving range.
Transmitting the power output to the new Continental GT’s all-wheel drive system is an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Combined, the systems accelerate the grand tourer from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and let it reach a top speed of 335 km/h.
In terms of design, the new Continental GT has a long, flowing hood, strong rear haunches, and a clean coupe profile echoing the proportions of the R Type Continental. Its front end is upright, marked by a single main headlamp on each side — a design touch not seen on a Bentley since the S2 model from 1959.
At the rear, the new Continental GT’s incorporates aerodynamic elements into the trunk lid, eliminating the need for a spoiler that deploys. A more dramatically styled bumper is matched by much wider taillights featuring a three-dimensional diamond pattern that create a molten lava-like effect.
The cabin receives a new precision quilt pattern inspired by fashion design, with sculpted surfaces, fading perforations, and unique embroidery. Other new interior features include the available Wellness seating with Postural Adjust and Auto Climate for the front seats, designed to reduce fatigue in every journey. On the dashboard is the Bentley Rotating Display that offers a choice between a 12.3-inch touchscreen, three analog dials, and a matching veneer panel.
Ensuring the new Continental GT’s unparalleled ride quality are the Bentley Performance Active Chassis, including active all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering, Bentley Dynamic Ride, and new ESC software. Dual-valve dampers and dual-chamber air springs provide more precise tuning.
All this reaffirms the new Continental GT’s status as a benchmark in the ultra luxury class, with the Autonis Award recognizing its achievement in design innovation.
