In our everyday life, all we want is a daily driver that could stomach the rigors of all that grind. Stress from deadlines, office workload, family concerns and basically all that life can throw at you can usually take up so much.

Good thing Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) has something that can “counter-punch” all these travails.

Truly, the Japanese compact carmaker has proven that it has vehicles that can step up to the plate. The Suzuki subcompact sedan Dzire Hybrid GLX CVT and the new electrified crossover Fronx Hybrid SGX AT, in a recently-concluded Department of Energy (DOE) CY2025 Fuel Eco-Run (FER) at the Tarlac–Pangasinan–La Union Expressway (TPLEX), churned out strong performances.

Based on the official results released by the DOE, the Dzire Hybrid GLX CVT achieved an impressive 36.10 km/L, showcasing what it can put to the table.

The Dzire Hybrid is equipped with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder Z12E engine with a 12V mild hybrid system and a continuously variable transmission that can produce 82 hp and 112N-m of torque. This feat clearly establishes the vehicle as a “ class-leading fuel-efficient daily driver for the city, as well as for long-distance driving.

Meanwhile, the Suzuki Fronx Hybrid SGX AT recorded a strong 24.69 km/L, underscoring the model’s balance of performance, style, and fuel efficiency for modern, active lifestyles.

The crossover sports a hybrid powertrain in its higher trims (GLX, SGX), using a 1.5L K15C Dualjet engine with a 12V SHVS mild-hybrid system, producing around 99 hp and 135 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

This hybrid offers electric assist and regenerative braking for smooth city driving and impressive fuel economy.

“These results affirm Suzuki’s philosophy of delivering practical and efficient vehicles that respond to real-world driving conditions,” said Norihide Takei, director and general manager of the automobile division of SPI.

“The DOE Fuel Eco-Run is an important platform that objectively measures fuel efficiency, and we are proud that both the Dzire Hybrid and the Fronx Hybrid demonstrated strong performance under standardized testing,” he continued.

Takei added, “Fuel efficiency is not just about savings—it is about sustainability and responsible mobility. For him, through models like the Dzire Hybrid and Fronx Hybrid, Suzuki continues to support the government’s efforts toward energy conservation while providing Filipinos with reliable, economical vehicles they can depend on every day.

According to a statement, the DOE Fuel Eco-Run aims to promote fuel efficiency awareness among motorists and encourage automotive manufacturers to develop vehicles that help reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

Suzuki participated under the internal combustion engine category, showcasing two of its fuel-efficient hybrid models in the Philippine market.

Overall, vehicles, such as these, can help shield you from everyday burdens that can, at times, knock you out cold.
