Cosco posted steady profit in 2025
Cosco Capital Inc. posted marginal growth in 2025, with net income attributable to equity holders reaching P9.32 billion, up 0.61 percent from a year earlier.
The Lucio Co-led retailer disclosed on Wednesday consolidated net income reached P15.96 billion, up 3.4 percent from P15.43 billion a year earlier.
Revenues jumped 10.6 percent to P262.04 billion from P236.96 billion. This was thanks to improved consumer demand and stronger operating performance across business segments.
Cosco said sustained recovery in economic activity, which lifted sales across its diversified portfolio, supported growth.
The firm’s grocery retail segment remained the largest contributor to earnings, accounting for 68 percent of total net income. Puregold Price Club Inc. and S&R Membership Shopping Club lead this segment.
Puregold grew its net income by 8.8 percent to P11.3 billion in 2025, on the back of strong top-line growth.
This segment posted net sales of P242.45 billion, up 10.6 percent year-on-year.
A higher basket size and increased customer traffic supported same-store sales growth.
Meanwhile, the liquor distribution business generated P20.19 billion in revenues, up 9 percent, as volume growth boosted sales.
The Keepers Holdings Inc., the country’s largest imported liquor distributor, posted a slight profit increase.
Its net income was pegged at P3.56 billion, up 0.8 percent from P3.54 billion a year earlier.
Cosco’s commercial real estate segment posted revenues of P2.13 billion, up 4.08 percent.
This segment’s net income climbed nearly 10 percent to P1.23 billion.
Other segments, including specialty retail and energy and minerals, also delivered modest gains, contributing to the group’s overall performance.
