WHAT IS “AURA FARMING”

 

ORIGIN

To aura farm is to “look cool, impressive, stylish, etc., especially—and importantly—without trying too hard,” according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary. It can also refer to performing actions intentionally in order to enhance one’s “aura” or coolness.

Aura farming combines the two slang words: aura and farming. Aura, in Gen Z slang, means “being impressively cool, charming, or appealing.” Meanwhile, the slang use of farming refers to frequent “repetitive actions to acquire something” (such as gaming culture).
