BIZ BUZZ: Fresh controversy hounds ACC
Just when people have started to forget about the Mango Tee and driving range construction brouhaha, the Alabang Country Club (ACC) has found itself mired in yet another controversy, this time involving the compensation package for the club’s top management.
Apparently, for certain members of the club that include some of the country’s who’s who, the rumored compensation package being cobbled together is way too high, considering that the club is supposed to be nonprofit thus expenses should be on the side of prudence and caution.
According to rumors circulating within the club, the proposed top salary goes north of P500,000 a month. Gasp!
But then again there are also those who believe that this is entirely justified considering the level of service that is required and the standards that have to be kept.
After all, the Alabang Country Club is one of the country’s most exclusive and therefore also among the most expensive.
But whatever the final compensation will be, what the members want more than the actual number is the assurance that a rigorous process will be observed and that transparency will be espoused.
After all, the last thing that the club wants is another charge of potential abuse of power staining its reputation.
