A ‘perfectly precise’ stay arrives in Manila
Manila welcomed the first AC Hotel by Marriott in the Philippines during its grand launch on May 15.
Perched atop the Glas Tower in Ortigas Center, AC Hotel by Marriott Manila introduces a “perfectly precise” hospitality experience defined by effortless elegance, purposeful design, and elevated experiences.
European hospitality
The brand is named after Antonio Catalán, who founded it with a vision of European hospitality anchored on simplicity and modernity. Its Philippine debut brings that experience together with local culture and sensibilities, said general manager Melvyn Angeles.
“Our goal is to create a stay that elevates the essentials, bringing together purposeful design and the warmth of Filipino hospitality in a way that feels both refreshing and relevant,” he said.
At the ribbon cutting ceremony, Angeles was joined by Marriott International Area general manager for the Philippines Bruce Winton, and the father-daughter tandem of Architect Albert Yu and Clarice Yu-Sy. The former is the founder and chair of ASYA Design, which brought Glas Tower to life, while the latter is the Interior Design director and managing director of AC Hotel by Marriott Manila.
“I’ve always believed that true luxury lies in thoughtfulness,” shared Yu-Sy. Capturing that perfectly precise spirit, the hotel embraced clean architectural lines, calming palettes, ambient lighting, and carefully arranged spaces.
Amenities, features and rituals
AC Hotel by Marriott Manila has 160 guest rooms, including serviced apartments. Each room thoughtfully accommodates guests’ modern needs, including ample workspaces, connectivity, and comfort.
You can access the AC swimming pool on the 57th floor, which also houses the 24-hour AC fitness facility.
Hang out at the AC library beside the grand lobby on the 38th level, or sample the signature dishes at AC Kitchen on the same floor. Offerings on the 24/7 in-room dining menu ingeniously combines European and Filipino influences as well.
You can also unwind after a whole day’s battery at the AC Lounge on the 38th floor, with an AC gin and tonic in hand. Get that or any cocktail drink with complimentary tapas every day, from 5 to 7 p.m. Even grander views of the city await at the AC Bar, a roof-deck bar on the 61st floor.
