Village exec slain in Zamboanga Sibugay

PAGADIAN CITY—A barangay councilor was killed after he was ambushed by motorcycle-riding gunmen along the national highway in Barangay San Jose, Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay, on Monday morning.

Police identified the victim as Edison Magdamit of Barangay Gandiangan. Magdamit was riding his motorcycle when he was tailed by two men on another motorcycle, investigators said.

Witnesses said the backrider suddenly drew a firearm and repeatedly shot the official.
