Did you ask the people receiving the ayuda if they felt humiliated or their dignity taken? Which is easier and more convenient to do, give them ayuda with all the palabas or lift them out of poverty?

If your charity needs a dramatic shot, a tragic angle, and a suffering stranger’s face to make you look good, it’s not charity—it’s marketing with human subjects. Help people. Don’t turn them into thumbnails.
