2GO deploys e-trucks for sustainable logistics
2GO Group Inc. has deployed the first batch of electric trucks as it continues to reduce its carbon emissions while maintaining efficient logistics operations.
The new electric vehicles are expected to cater to high-volume freight, offering quieter, cleaner and more energy-efficient operations.
For its freight forwarding services, 2GO Forwarding, this will enable faster delivery times, reduced fuel costs and a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions across urban and intercity routes.
Faye Alonzo, head of 2GO Forwarding business unit, said that the deployment of new electric trucks reflects the logistics firm’s commitment to sustainability.
This is given that the cargo shipping operations are among those that contribute the most waste in the country.
“Every step we take, from warehouse operations to the roads, is guided by our responsibility to the environment. With e-trucks, we can move goods more efficiently while significantly lowering our carbon footprint, proving that logistics and sustainability can go hand in hand,” Alonzo said.
2GO’s current electric land transportation fleet complies with the Euro 4 emission standards that set stricter limits for carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and particulate matter for both gasoline and diesel vehicles.
