7-Eleven PH breaches 4,000 stores on 40th year
The Philippine licensee for 7-Eleven convenience stores is planning to end this year with 4,100 branches, with the expansion partly driven by sales growth in the urban capital region.
Philippine Seven Corp. (PSC) head of finance and investor relations Lawrence De Leon says the retailer currently has 4,022 stores.
“Recently, we are seeing growth resuming in Metro Manila. That’s why in terms of market development plan, new stores are also anticipated to open,” he says.
In a follow up message to the Inquirer, he says store sales at their Metro Manila branches grew 8 percent so far this year, faster than the 5 percent growth registered nationwide.
The company is also celebrating this year the establishment of its 4,000th store, which is located at the Newport District in Pasay City.
“Reaching 4,000 stores is an incredible milestone that reflects the trust and loyalty we’ve earned from our customers over the years. It’s also a tribute to the hard work and dedication of our team,” PSC co-founder and chair Jose Pardo says.
“Celebrating 40 years in the Philippines and opening our 4000th store is a significant achievement for us. It underscores our commitment to delivering convenience and exceptional service. We’re excited to keep serving our communities and look forward to the future,” says PSC president and CEO Jose Victor Paterno.
The first 7-Eleven store was opened back in Feb. 29, 1984 at the corner of EDSA and Kamias Road in Metro Manila, according to the PSC.
The company plans to spend P4.5 billion this year to refurbish old stores while rolling out new ones.
Luzon currently serves as 7-Eleven’s largest market with nearly 3,000 stores, while Visayas and Mindanao have more than 500 and 400 stores, respectively.
