BIR pilots centralized taxpayer portal

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has launched the Taxpayer Portal that provides a consolidated view of tax-related records, with the pilot implementation initially covering those under its Large Taxpayers Service (LTS).

Under Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 053-2026, the secured digital platform was designed to allow taxpayers to access their tax information through a centralized online portal, reducing the need for manual follow-ups and in-person visits to BIR offices.

“Through a centralized taxpayer profile, taxpayers can conveniently view their current registration details, monitor the status of filed tax returns, track tax payments, and receive timely system-generated reminders for tax return filing and payment obligations,” the circular read.

For now, only taxpayers registered under the LTS may enroll in and use the portal as part of its pilot rollout.

Large taxpayers include those whose gross sales for the taxable year is P1 billion or more.

BIR Commissioner Charlito Mendoza, during the portal’s launch on Tuesday, said the gradual rollout would allow the agency to work closely with taxpayers while further strengthening its digital systems and services.

“This allows the bureau to work closely with taxpayers operating at the highest levels of business and compliance complexity as we continue strengthening our digital systems and taxpayer services,” Mendoza said.

“This launch reflects the direction we continue to pursue as an institution with the support of the Department of Finance and our stakeholders—a bureau that is more modern in its systems, more responsive in its service, and more worthy of the trust of taxpayers and the Filipino people,” he added.

Meanwhile, Finance Secretary Frederick Go said the new platform would help address long-standing challenges faced by taxpayers who have had to navigate multiple systems and fragmented records.

“The taxpayer portal is built on a simple but powerful idea. If compliance is clear, simple and accessible, people will comply better. Instead of going through separate platforms and scattered records, everything is now in one place,” Go said in his speech.
