BIZ BUZZ: Maya’s PR play pays off

Emmanuel John Abris

Winning customers is one thing. Winning over the marketing crowd year after year is another.

Digital finance platform Maya has done just that after bagging Gold and Silver honors at the PR Awards Asia-Pacific 2026, extending what has become a four-year streak of recognition for its brand campaigns.

The company clinched gold in the Best Brand Collaboration category for its “Save a Housemate. Save with Maya.” campaign, which turned voting for Pinoy Big Brother into a savings exercise by requiring fans to first deposit money into their Maya accounts before casting their votes.

It also earned silver in the consumer launch category for introducing the Maya Black credit card, while the campaign was shortlisted in the PR Event category.

For Maya, the latest trophies underscore a strategy that goes beyond flashy advertising. The fintech has increasingly tied its products to everyday experiences—from entertainment to digital banking—in hopes of building deeper customer engagement while promoting financial inclusion.

The latest haul follows award-winning campaigns in 2022, 2023 and 2024, suggesting Maya has found a formula that continues to resonate not just with consumers, but also with the region’s marketing judges.
