BIZ BUZZ: Marketing mainstay climbs to Manulife PH CMO role
A near-decade climb up the corporate ladder has finally landed a marketing veteran in the C-suite at Manulife Philippines.
Joy Ann Concepcion has been named the insurance firm’s new chief marketing officer (CMO), effective April 27, replacing Sonali Verma, who has been promoted to Manulife Asia as chief brand and experience officer.
Concepcion has been with Manulife Philippines’ marketing arm since 2017, steadily rising through the ranks while helping drive brand-building efforts, digital initiatives commercial impact across the business.
“I’m honored to take on this role and to build on the strong momentum the team has created over the past years,” Concepcion said.
“Working closely with our partners across the business, my focus is to sharpen how we deliver for our customers—strengthening the power of our brand, simplifying customer experiences, and turning our marketing priorities into real impact and meaningful growth—so we can better serve Filipinos with the protection, health, and wealth solutions they need,” she added.
As CMO, Concepcion is expected to help steer Manulife’s marketing push toward deeper digital transformation and the use of artificial intelligence, as the insurer looks to sustain growth in a market where insurance penetration remains below potential.
