BIZ BUZZ: Tiongson joins Ateneo de Manila University board

Ma. Gisela Tiongson, president and executive director of Jollibee Group Foundation, has joined the board of the Ateneo de Manila University, where she graduated in 1986 with a degree in Mathematics (honorable mention).

Ateneo announced that Tiongson, who has been with the corporate social responsibility arm of Jollibee Group since 2007, was elected to a three year-term from August 2025 to August 2028 during the annual meeting of the members of the university corporation held on Aug. 2.

Ateneo de Manila president Fr. Roberto C. Yap SJ said in his letter to the Ateneo community that Tiongson has extensive experience in CSR and social development.

Prior to Jollibee, she worked as independent consultant and held top positions at Synergos Institute and Philippine Business for Social Progress, where she developed and implemented various CSR programs.

Tiongson is involved in several foundations and boards and has consistently demonstrated her strong commitment to addressing poverty and promoting sustainable development, making her a welcome addition to Ateneo’s board.

Meanwhile, reelected for three-year terms each are Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng, general manager of the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation, Christopher Po, executive chair of Century Pacific Food Inc. and Fr. Jose VC Quilongquilong SJ.
