Globe to launch first AI-powered solar home system

Globe Telecom is on track to a greener solution for artificial intelligence (AI) adoption, as it further boosts services across its broadband segment, the first of its kind in Asia Pacific.

The Ayala-led firm, powered by fiber-to-the-room (FTTR) technology, has partnered with FusionSolar to bring AI and solar-powered connectivity as part of their vision that innovation, sustainability, and purposeful connectivity co-exist together.

The new FusionSolar technology enables homes to harvest natural energy, a solution that guarantees internet connectivity even during instances of power outage disruption. This also helps cut down the cost of electricity consumption.

The supply of power is guaranteed through AI-managed backup batteries that instantly activate when the main power grid fails.

At present, FusionSolar has aided power efficiency of over 3.9 million households across 170 countries, with over 80,000 households adopting the solar solutions in Thailand. This provided them up to 70 percent of their electricity supply.

“At Globe, we believe innovation is most powerful when it’s purposeful,” said Abigail Cardino, Globe vice president and head of brand management for the broadband business.

“Through strategic partnerships and cutting-edge technology, we’re making efficient and sustainable living a reality for more Filipino families,” Cardina said. “This is how we foster meaningful connections, by building homes that are AI-powered, yet deeply human.”

Globe At Home’s GFiber postpaid plans promise connectivity speeds of up to 2.5 gigabytes per second.
