Megaworld posts full occupancy in 24 office towers

Emmanuel John Abris

Property giant Megaworld Corp. said it fully leased 24 office towers during the first quarter of 2026, underscoring sustained demand for office space within its township developments despite evolving workplace trends.

The fully occupied office buildings, located across Metro Manila, Pampanga, Iloilo, Cebu and Davao, comprise around 430,000 square meters (sq m) of leasable space and currently house about 80,000 workers from the information technology-business process management (IT-BPM) sector and various corporate offices.

The portfolio includes office developments in Uptown Bonifacio, McKinley Hill, McKinley West and ArcoVia City in Metro Manila, as well as properties in Iloilo Business Park, The Mactan Newtown, Davao Park District and Clark Cityfront in Pampanga.

“Demand for strategic office locations within our townships continues to be strong as more companies recognize the long-term advantages of operating within integrated developments,” Francisco Roxas, head of Megaworld global offices, said.

According to the company, demand remains supported by multinational corporations, business process outsourcing (BPO) firms, technology companies, financial institutions and corporate headquarters seeking highly accessible and future-ready workspaces.

Many of the fully leased towers host global companies such as JPMorganChase, Coca-Cola, Reckitt, Mead Johnson and Wells Fargo.

The strong occupancy performance translated into P3.8 billion in office leasing revenues during the first quarter. Megaworld also leased nearly 100,000 sq m of office space to BPO firms and multinational companies during the period.

In addition, almost 80 percent of lease contracts due for renewal this year had already been secured as early as the first quarter.

Megaworld said market demand helped it emerge as the top office developer in terms of lease transactions in the first quarter, based on a report by property consultancy CBRE Philippines. To support future growth, the company is accelerating the completion of new office developments.
