Pro audio market booms with live event resurgence in postpandemic PH

The Philippine professional audio market is experiencing a significant surge, primarily driven by the postpandemic comeback of live events, concerts and corporate functions.
“This resurgence is fueling a substantial increase in demand for professional audio equipment, including PA (professional audio) systems, wireless microphones and mixers, as the events and hospitality industries invest in upgraded sound systems to enhance audience engagement,” says Tia de Guzman, marketing communications manager at Audiophile Components Inc., a leading distributor of branded audio electronics equipment and musical instruments in the Philippines.
During the recent anniversary of one of the top global brands distributed by Audiophile, De Guzman took the opportunity to discuss the current state and future trajectory of the local audio market.
De Guzman acknowledges that the total value of the local audio electronics market, encompassing both consumer and professional audio equipment as projected by market research firm 6Wresearch, may reach $8.1 billion. It is seen to grow at a compounded annual growth rate of 4.5 percent in the next few years.
Focusing on the significant contribution of the pro audio segment to such growth trajectory, De Guzman explains, “The return of large-scale gatherings, from international music festivals to local corporate conferences, has created an urgent need for state-of-the-art sound reinforcement.”
This increased activity in the entertainment and hospitality industries is expected to drive significant investments in high-quality sound solutions, as organizers recognize that superior audio is paramount for audience satisfaction and engagement.
“The demand for pro audio gear, encompassing everything from robust PA systems for large venues to sophisticated wireless microphone setups for seamless presentations and advanced mixing consoles for precise sound control, stands out as a primary and powerful catalyst for growth within the larger Philippine audio electronics landscape,” explains De Guzman.
“The renewed emphasis on in-person experiences means that businesses and event organizers are prioritizing professional-grade audio infrastructure to deliver impactful and memorable events.”
